. the claim has not been verified. john bolton is here. good evening, sir. >> good evening. >> greta: first, your overall thought about what transpired on capitol hill, in terms of the release behind closed doors today? >> well, i think the most interesting testimony that has leaked out -- do i have faith the rest of it will leak out in due course, is that the director of national intelligence and the acting cia director would not say where the talking points that susan rice used on those famous five sunday shows came from. so the notion that somehow or another, this was all supplied to her by the intelligence community, i think is now in question. the real is did the white house write the talking points to suit their ideology, to suit their political imperatives, where did all of that come from? and that, i think, is going to be the focus of a lot of the inquiry with director petraeus tomorrow. >> greta: one of the things that is curious to me, and i am total oat outside, but having tried cases. have you to keep secret. some things on capitol hill have to be secret because it's classified.

does this scandal go? what is the meaning of all of it and what should we know about it? john bolton joins me now, former ambassador to the u.n. and fox news contributor. good morning to you. >> good morning, martha, glad to be with you. >> what do you think? >> i think there is an amazing difference between what happens after november 6th and our election and what happened before it. as you were asking before how is it that the allen investigation is treated so much differently than the petraeus investigation, a lot of facts we don't know, but certainly this is post november the 6th and whatever the political consequences, they are very attenuated for the president. i think the real issue of course we need to go back to ultimately is benghazi and what happened on september the 11th. but i think also this question of how politicized our national security has become under the obama administration and the effort to push everything past november the 6th really now is something that congress and other political leaders need to focus on. martha: i want to ask you about all these emails an

. that is a question we'll take up with john bolton. former ambassador to the united nations. good morning, sir. we get so tabled up in the discussion about the videotape and susan rice, and i wonder what's going on with this investigation. we know they took one person into custody, alharzi, he was taken to turkey then tunisia, the fbi said they expect they will be able to interview him over the next several days. we are two months out and it seems to me nowhere in this. >> there are two problems. one is to treat this like it's a criminal investigation. this is not a criminal investigation. it was an acts of terrorism against the consulate. and we have blown lots of opportunities to find evidence on the scene, that the consulate wasn't secured for days and days. obviously the perpetrators aren't hangouts on street corners waiting to get picked up. we lops the opportunity to question this particular individual weeks and weeks ago when his testimony would have been a lot fresher. so i think pursuing this as a law enforcement matter was wrong to begin with. but number two precisely because it's over two m
